Greetings everyone.
Just wanted to announce a very exciting piece of news. I have finally gotten some time to sit down and work with the new Thesis Theme (BRAND NEW version 1.5) and implement a design for The Niche Store Journey.
It isn’t anything super-mega fancy like some Thesis sites out there, but I feel that it is classy and has a good, readable look to it!
If you poke around the site you may find a few new features added with the re-design, but please be aware you may also run into some things that are not quite ironed out yet.
The design and parts of the themes look and functionality will be changing dramatically during the next week or two while I finalize the design.
The end result is that now NSJ is much faster running, and much more user friendly!
Not to mention that I am being hosted by a new web host which is leaps and bounds better than my previous experiences with Hostgator and Kiosk.ws.
More on the webhost to come tomorrow, but for now please let me know what you think about the new look! Likes, dislikes, anything would be appreciated!
PS: You may notice the graphics on the blog for “Tyler Jonsson’s Act Like A Marketer”… This is my BRAND NEW Internet Marketing course which has not even been released yet!
I am currently developing this truly one of a kind internet marketing video course, and as a reader of The Niche Store Journey, I will soon be releasing details of how you can secure a discount when the product launches.
For now, click on through to the site through the banner ad and opt in to the pre-launch list to get all the latest updates. This is going to be an amazing product that will be a game changer for many people!

I love the Thesis Theme Tyler. I am starting a new blog and want to use the Thesis Theme. However, I think that I still will need a designer to help me to customize it.
It definitely has a learning curve, but the nice thing about Thesis is the HUGE amount of tutorials and resources on the net designed to walk you through customizing it.
Not to mention the fact that there is a wonderfully helpful community only forum that helps you with design questions as well.
I highly recommend you check it out!
Just a week ago I also invested in the Thesis theme. The only thing I wish is that it was easier to change colors. If they made that as easy as the rest of it, this theme would be unbeatable!
Your site looks nice. I like the clean look of the Thesis theme.

Rochelle,
The nice thing about Thesis is that once you learn the CSS override system it uses (which I am still doing), changing the colors becomes very easy.
I recommend going to the DIYThemes members forum and reading up on the threads dealing with customization.
Using a combination of Firebug/Web Developer plugins for Firefox, it becomes easy to find out what CSS styles control certain parts of the text of your theme, then you can simple add a custom CSS declaration in the custom.css of the theme.
I am no expert on this, but highly recommend you check out some of the forum posts, VERY helpful people there. Congratulations on the Thesis purchase!
I’m seriously considering buying Thesis too – Ive never paid for a theme, and inability to design is only matched by my inability to hack css -so it could be the right solution for me!
I would highly recommend you do check it out!
If you buy it through my link here on the site, feel free to email me privately or through my Contact form and I will help you out personally any way I can.
I like the theme, you’ve done a lot to it from the original. When I went to the DIY site I didn’t even recognize it. I was thinking I might use the theme myself, I just don’t think I quite have the skills to modify it like you did quite yet.
To be honest, my customization from the original was not TOO drastic. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate the tweaks I implemented at about a 2 or a 3. Most of the custom additions are things that I learned how to do via tutorials at other blogs freely!
I highly recommend checking Thesis out and learning as you go, you will not regret it!
