Google is Not the End All, Be All Search Engine
Hello everyone, greetings from the beautiful Big Bear Lake in southern California. My apologies for the lack of updates, but I’ve been spending the week out here relaxing.
Today I just wanted to follow up one of my previous posts about being deindexed from Google.
At this point in time, 2 of my well-performing sites, and 1 site which has been performing poorly have all been deindexed by Google.
If you read the blog here, you were able to follow my mood over the course of the next few days, since I was quite distraught by the whole prospect of running my sites with no Google behind them.
I just wanted to point out to you all however, that there are other guests at the party besides Google. Specifically, I have done something this week which I have never had to do before now. I have gone out and tried to lure Yahoo! and MSN search engines to crawl and index my pages.
While before, getting into Google was the pinnacle of possible success, now I am realizing that yes, of course I intend to get re-indexed at some point (hopefully!), but why waste precious commissions in the meanwhile?
By courting Yahoo! and MSN, I am hoping to regain at least a respectable portion of my daily traffic I was gaining on Google to my deindexed sites, as well as bolster the existing traffic of a few of my sites which remain indexed.
One of the things that I both love and hate about Niche Store Building with BANS or any other platform is the constant challenge and diversity of ways to succeed. It keeps you on your toes, but also is brutally honest with you at times when you cannot afford the time or energy to comply.
Anyone have any Yahoo! or MSN tips? We would all love to hear them!
How to Get Your Content Creation Juices Flowing!
One of the most difficult things for a Niche Store Builder to do is write unique content. Although BANS is a wonderful piece of software, it is becoming more and more clear every day that on its own it will not be enough.
You need engaging, unique content to appease not only Google but to attract and keep visitors as well!
Don’t Allow Yourself to be Thrown by Perceived Failure…
In my last post, I described to you my experiences lately with Google Sandboxing and a general drop-off of visitors, clicks, and ultimately profits with ePN.
Since that post, I have often been sitting at the computer working on a site, hoping that my efforts would pay off. I was uneasy about the potentially long period of time that may take, however.
‘Lo and behold, I logged into my ePN dashboard today to find that not only had my clicks tripled from the low point of last week (but still slightly behind last months daily averages), but that I had made my single largest BANS commission to date!
This of course made my day, as it encouraged me that the sky is not falling, and if I continue to put in the work and effort results will (continue to) come!
So my piece of wisdom to impart to you all today is this:
Do not allow yourself to be “defeated” by bad periods. At the same time, do not let yourself grow complacent during the good periods either.
I am becoming more and more convinced every day that the best way to approach your Niche Store Building with BANS or with any other platform is to continue plugging away as much as you can, and so long as you are making wise decisions with your niche’s and SEO practices, in the long run things will work out for the best!
Your poorly performing stores will almost certainly benefit from the attention and work put in, and your best performing stores will continue to gain momentum with the constant stream of content and SEO!
So I challenge you to make your best effort to re-commit yourself to an aspect of your Niche Store Building that has fallen to the wayside today!
Dust Yourself Off and Try Again!
Good afternoon everyone, today I would like to briefly touch upon a situation I am currently finding myself in.
It is probably every new BANS users biggest nightmare…
Picking Up the Pieces: When a Niche Store Builder Loses Their Way
Hello everyone, today I would like to change things up a little bit and make my first post-vacation entry be one that will hopefully not just motivate you all, but myself as well!
About three weeks ago when I left for my vacation, I fully expected for my BANS stores and Blogs to suffer due to my having to 100% disregard them for almost an entire month. I was expecting to be behind on postings, link building, marketing… All the important steps a Niche Store Builder or Blogger must take to ensure their best chance for success.
What I was not counting on however, was losing the ambition and drive to do those things upon my return!
Back in Action
Hello everyone, I am happy to be back in the States!
I had a great trip, but I was most certainly ready to be back home!
In the coming days, as I get unpacked and settled back into my normal routine, you can expect more great posts here on the Niche Store Journey.
Thanks for your loyal readership and patience.

Taking (Another) Journey of My Own!
Hello everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that I am going to be out of the country for the next roughly 2 and a half weeks on a cruise with my family.
I will have a laptop with me, but I highly doubt I will have the time or internet access to be able to actually post anything during that period.
I would like to thank everyone to take time out of their days to read the blog, and I will certainly be cooking up some good tips and advice for posts when I return mid-August (or before if I am able!)
Have a good few weeks my fellow Niche Store Journey’ers!
Track What Your Visitors Are Buying!
I have recently discovered a very neat tool for BANS users which I wanted to briefly talk about and discuss today. It is called “TWW’s ePN Item Tracker“, and in my opinion this FREE tool should be in every BANS user’s toolbox!
BANS/Blog or Blog/BANS?
Hello everyone, today I would like to briefly talk about one of the key decisions to make when using the Simple CSS Template Pack, which we took a closer look at a few days ago. Since then I have had the opportunity to integrate it not only onto a few new stores, but some existing ones as well. Let’s now take a look at the choice between putting BANS on the domain root, or your Blog. Continue Reading >>
